Community Spotlight: Aspen Youth Center
For all of us at Laura U Design Collective, the love of home is a guiding force. It exists at the center of everything we create, and has inspired our firm’s approach since 2006. We are proud members of organizations that share our love of home and its powerful impact on families in both Houston and Aspen. Enter, Aspen Youth Center.
When Laura and her family moved to Aspen Snowmass in 2020, the Aspen Youth Center (AYC) was amongst the first organizations her twin girls got involved in. The Aspen Youth Center is a cornerstone for youth in the Roaring Fork Valley community. They are dedicated to providing a safe and supportive place for youth in grades 4 through 12 to connect, learn, and grow during their out of school hours. All for free.
Since Laura’s twin girls attend the AYC, our team has seen first-hand the benefits they provide the community. It didn’t take long for our firm to connect with the team at the AYC to ask how we could partner. For the past two years, we have been proud to sponsor the Aspen Youth Center Aether Games in the summer and their spring “Not Boring & Totally Fun Trivia Night” gala.
A Not So Boring Totally Fun Design!
When the AYC approached us to help refresh the design of their 7th grade and up hangout room, we jumped at the opportunity! One of their main requests – a big comfy chair. We knew the perfect partner to turn to – Alchemy Fine Home. Laura worked with Alchemy Fine Home for her home in Snowmass and they did not disappoint.
Alchemy Fine Home was born out of a passion for design and living in style. They have an amazing collection of quality brands and unique pieces. Being able to see their selection and place orders on their website makes the ordering process simple and convenient.
We found the perfect cozy lounger designed by Four Hands. We brought some personality into the space with one of our favorite Jane Churchill wallcoverings and refreshed the paint to jazz up the space. Now, it’s the perfect place for kiddos to hangout, play games, and work on homework.
